We discovered these while
working on Monster
Garage, and they are hands-down the best linear
actuators we've ever seen. The 12V motors run silently
and efficiently. Team
Delta now stocks seven different lengths, in three
different models.
Note that the 2" and
4" models are outwardly the same size, as are
the 6" and 8" (though the 8" is rated
for 250 lbs). Same goes for the 10" and 12"
units. No-load actuation speed is around 3/4"
per second. And we don't recommend over-volting
the motor to increase that. See the PDF
for more info. All have built-in limit switches
on each extreme to automatically stop at the end
of the run. They also have built in Hall-effect
transducers that generate a pulse stream during
actuation -- read this with a Basic Stamp for NetMedia
BX-24 and use them as servo positioners.
